Sometimes called “stomach flu” or “food poisoning,” norovirus is one of the types of viruses that can cause gastroenteritis, or an inflammation of the
stomach and intestines.
Tt is a highly contagious virus that can be contracted by coming in contact with food, surfaces, or other people that have been
exposed to norovirus.
While most people recover from norovirus in a few days, the virus can cause several forms of illness and death.
The most
effective way of protecting yourself from norovirus is by thorough hand-washing, since most hand sanitizers do not destroy the virus.
